Light The Night is Blood Cancer United’s (formerly LLS) largest community event, where passionate teams representing all areas of the community gather together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. Light The Night welcomes school teams to join us as we gather together to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by cancer.Together we help fund lifesaving research & critical patient support for blood cancer patients & their families. We partnered with The Mailbox who has more than 40+ years in the education space to develop this curriculum and turn-key activities. The STEM curriculum is Common Core aligned and the SEL activities were modeled after the CASEL framework, which is the nation's leading organization advancing the development of academic, social, and emotional competence for all students. Builds core literacy, math, and social-emotional learning skills Teaches about the human body and cutting-edge research from Blood Cancer United -funded scientists. Schools raising $2,000+ will receive a School Rewards Gift Card. Local Top 5 Schools Recognized at the local Light The Night Awards Ceremony. NationalTop 5 schools across the nations will receive a special recognition trophy from the Blood Cancer United National Office. PARTICIPANT BENEFITS All Registered Participants will receive a Lantern at the Light The Night event! White = Patients & Survivors; Gold = In Remembrance; Red = In Support *Physical lanterns will be provided to all registered participants at in-person events. Virtual participants will have access to a create-your-own lantern activity. All Participants who raise $100+ will receive a Light The Night T-Shirt! *T-shirts will be mailed to all qualifying participants to the address used during registration. Shirts are mailed once a month September – June. To receive a Light The Night T-Shirt, funds must be raised online through your fundraising page.
